Fascinating stuff! It seems an overwhelming task, but a worthy one. Great work! Look forward to further educating myself in the literal translation of one of the most influential books of human existence. Thank you!

O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus your Son:

Look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Happy New Year...

O God, the beginning and the end of all things, Who art always the same, and Whose years fail not, we now, at the close of another year, kneel in adoration before Thee, and offer Thee our deepest thanks for the fatherly care with which Thou has watched over us during the past, for the many times Thou hast protected us from evils of soul and body, and for the numberless blessings, both temporal and spiritual, which Thou hast showered upon us. May it please Thee to accept the homage of our grateful hearts which we offer Thee in union with the infinite thanksgiving of Thy divine Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Who with Thee liveth and reigneth forever and ever. Amen.

One needs more than knowledge of the Hebrew alphabet to offer a viable translation

What an undertaking! One can spend eternity studying Hebrew and Aramaic, working on translating it into English, have the best of intentions but the work will unfortunately prove futile in the end. Jesus said,"I have come into the world to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind." Ask Him to give you sight so that you will "know the Truth and the Truth will set you free"!

Bill - your wonderful translation inspired me to start. much thanks. -Mike

At the start
Became created
the sky
the earth
Earth void and virgin
darkness upon its primal waters
the spirit of creation
moved the face of the waters
the powerful sang:
come light
then said the light was good
so were parted the light from the dark
Light was called day and dark was called night
There was sunset and daybreak
United in day one.

The powerful sang: let there be firmament
to divide the waters
so the firmament was made dividing the waters
above it below it
the expanse above the firmament was called sky
There was sunset and daybreak
United in day two.

Genesis Rejuvenated is a labour of love and a gift to all those who seek clarity within the ancient teachings of Judaism and Christianity. The quest of the soul is to find its own connection with the Divine and this is an excellent tool to use in that great journey. My own joy has been to find the magic in reinterpreting the texts by applying the Jewish mystical training that I have together with my studies of the cultural and social mores of those times.

Thank you. The creation of the world reads so much better. It makes more sense than the KJV... congrats

Well, I just finished reading Genesis Rejuvenated -- what an AMAZING book
you created! My wife, who's pretty scholarly, was even blown away
by it. Really really good work.

Not only for myself, but for anyone who wants to dig back into the
Bible with their OWN hands and heart -- Thank You.

I read your book last night and I was very impressed. I am not a religious person, mostly due to the bigotry and manipulation that world religions insist upon, which I feel you have made a good case against.

I particularly appreciate revealing the history of gender bias and a strong case for being a vegetarian (which my wife and I are!). I have always been annoyed at that whole “dominion over animals” section as a reason for Christians to be so anti-vegan.

I hope there is more to come!
