Sang alhim to earth to bear
the living things
of every kind,
lumbering, scampering
and reproducing themselves
upon the earth.

As one, all gods made
life on earth for perpetuity

or scampers the ground for
perpetuity.

upon all this as good.
Sang all the gods that
we shall make the human race
cast in our role
to tend the fish, the birds
and all earth’s creatures

As one the gods conceive
the human race
male and female
side by side.
As one the gods conceive them
and bless them
and sing to them
to prosper and procreate
and replenish and tend the earth
and guide the fish of the sea
and birds of the sky
and all the creatures
of the earth.
And sing the gods as one
always we give to you
every seed-bearing plant
on the face of the earth
and every fruit-bearing tree
to be for food for you.
And to all life on earth
all birds of the skies
of every kind
of moving breathing living thing
upon the earth
we give
green plants for food.
And so it came to be.
And see all gods as one
that all they do is always
wholly joined.

We shall make
The powers-that-be vocalize their plan in the first person plural.
The human race
The King James Bible translates the Aramaic/Hebrew word adm as ‘man.” This implies that the first person was an individual male – like the King.
But translating adm as “human’ is not only more accurate,
it is also more consistent with the upcoming verse in which the powers-that-be conceive the human race – both male and female – side by side.
Cast in our role
Btslmno qdmotno seems to be an idiom for “cast in our mold” with
btslmno being the mold and
qdmotno being the flesh and blood casting. Humans, then, are modeled to play the role that the powers that be play in the Universe.
The King James translation is wrought with linguistic and logical inconsistencies. In this verse,
‘God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness’
One single God uses the first person plural. A few verses later,
‘God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him, male and female created he them’
One single male God simultaneously creates both a male and female in his male image. If you try hard enough, you can generate explanations for all of that linguistic, logical and gender confusion.
Or you can let the Bible speak for itself.
Side by side
Here, in Genesis One, the powers-that-be simultaneously create male and female human beings. Later, in Genesis Two, God removes a side from the first human and uses it to create the first mate.
There's something infinitely sad about little girls who grow up understanding (usually unconsciously) that if God is male, it's because male is the most valuable thing to be. This belief resonates in a thousand hidden ways in their lives. It slowly cripples girl children,
and it cripples female adults.
